My Fedora 8 Install continued...
Hardware = Sony Viao - VGN-CR120E
Dealing with Vista:
With the standard install of Vista using the entire drive and the need to still use some tools that will only run on Windows so I decided to re-size the volume. This task is fairly simple and the instructions can be found here or here.
After this was done I now had 40 GB free to install Fedora 8.
I now downloaded the Fedora KDE live CD and burnt it to a CD.
I then rebooted the computer and let it come up on the live CD.
After booting and logging into the system you will find an install icon on the desktop.
First we need to make sure things are working off the live CD, and a few items I noticed not working were the web cam, and most of buttons that control volume, mute, av mode, and CD player. Here you need to decide on continuing and fixing these items or doing without and fixing later. I chose to go ahead and install Ferdora.
